Deseret Cattle & Citrus (DCC) is a cattle ranch near St. Cloud, Florida which offers camping and an area for Pioneer Treks.

 

Trout Lake Camp Area


This site includes 20 acres of improved camp bordering a lake with three 40-foot covered picnic tables, electricity, and drinkable well water. There are also 150 acres of unimproved area for nature walks and primitive camping. One restroom with running water and showers as well as several fire rings are also available.

Reservations are scheduled through the ranch receptionist.

Sungrove Pioneer Treks Area


The Sungrove area is available for treks from June through August.

The 25+ miles of trails allow stakes to customize their own trek experience depending on how long and how vigorous a trek they desire. The land includes areas of slash pine-forest, oak hummocks, palmetto, and wiregrass open range. The main campsite for the trek groups is situated in an oak hummock on the edge of Lake Preston.

The ranch provides and trek handbook full of ideas to customize your own trek, an orientation for trek leadership, and up to 20 handcarts.

Stakes must make their own arrangements for water and portable toilets.

There is a $15 charge per person for handcart and site maintenance.

Treks are scheduled through Deseret Cattle & Citrus’s receptionist and are coordinated through the ranch’s full-time senior missionaries.

Handcarts


For stakes that want to do their own treks in a location other than at the ranch, handcarts are available from September through May. The one week rental fee is $10 per cart. There is also a $20 refundable deposit per cart.

Handcart rental is scheduled through Deseret Cattle & Citrus’s receptionist and are coordinated through the ranch’s full-time senior missionaries.
